After moving to a new community, one of your most important decisions is where you will go to church. If you are part of a family, having family members together for church activities is also very important to you.
First Congregational Church, UCC is a warm, welcoming community that is open to all people who want to experience God’s love in their lives. We openly affirm everyone wherever you are on life’s journey. Lifestyles are unimportant...except insofar as they are “a lifestyle of generosity and service” (part of our Mission Statement).
We strongly affirm our identity as a member of the United Church of Christ, which has as its motto: “God is Still Speaking”. We are constantly looking for new ways for God’s light and truth to break forth in our individual lives, in our community, in the world. As Gracie Allen has said, we don’t want to put a period where God has placed a comma.First Congregational strives to meet the needs of the community – through a food pantry, a thrift shop, Bread distribution, hosting a Family Resource Center, participating in a CROP Walk, an attic sale. We offer “food for the soul” as well – through music, a Sacred Dance choir, children’s and adult Christian Education, regular worship (10:00 am) as well as special services. We also proudly host three other congregations: Congregational Christian Church of American Samoa (UCC), Romanian Peace of the Gospel Church, and Iglesia Apostolica.
If you are new to Las Vegas (or visiting for a time), we would very much enjoy the opportunity to welcome you to our church activities and worship and to have you experience the warmth of God’s love with us.
